2026 Rock it Sock it – Sock Drive

Help Us Collect Socks and Toiletries for the Homeless This February!

Did you know that one of the most needed, but least donated items to homeless shelters are SOCKS? They are essential for keeping feet warm and healthy, but unfortunately, socks are often in short supply.

That’s why this February, Fitzsimons Credit Union is participating in the Rock It Sock It – Sock Drive, and we need your help! We will be accepting donations from February 2 through February 28, 2026. Items being collected include new, unworn socks in all sizes, travel-size shampoo, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, lotion, lip balm, deodorant, disposable razors, combs or brushes, and nail clippers; new undergarments in all sizes; and pet items, including dog and cat food, treats, toys, and pet beds. All items must be new and unopened—used or opened items cannot be accepted. Monetary donations are also being accepted to help support this effort.

Why Are Socks So Important?

Socks do more than keep feet warm—they help protect against frostbite, prevent foot injuries, and reduce the risk of infections. Many people experiencing homelessness suffer from nerve damage and can’t feel discomfort in their feet. Clean, new socks can help prevent serious health issues and keep them safer.
